I’m Emily, a native to the tri-state area currently residing in Huntington, WV. I’m a proud wife, mama, and fur mama. I’m an avid animal, book, and music lover! You can usually find with me with my little family or working in home health in rural WV as an occupational therapist. After my own empowering homebirth in March of 2023 I decided I wanted to pursue birth work. The amount of support and love I felt during my own birthing experience made me realize how important it is to have that during such a vulnerable time. That is why I decided to become a birth doula. I wanted others to have that experience during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

A birth doula is one who provides emotional, physical, and informational support to individuals or couples before, during, and after childbirth. During our prenatal appointments we will focus on your birth wishes and preferences along with just getting together to chat and build a relationship. During labor we can focus on various calming and coping strategies, breathwork, massage, and other relaxation techniques that you may want to explore. I will also be an advocate for YOU to assist with you having the birth of your dreams. After birth, we can schedule a few appointments just to check in to ensure you’re settling into this new routine well and continue to provide support during all of the initial postpartum challenges.

It's important to note that a doula does not provide medical care or make decisions on behalf of the parents. Instead, they complement the care provided by healthcare professionals by offering emotional and practical support throughout the birthing process.
