For those of you that keep up with me in my crazy, little life, you might have noticed over the last year and a half I've had to take a little hiatus from boudoir photography in order to pursue cosmetology; a career I am confident will mesh well with boudoir. In April of 2020, (you know...the year we were all quarantined) I finally managed to obtain my 1500 hours in the program. Graduating cosmetology has finally freed up a lot of my time to get back to building my boudoir community and allowed me to get back to what I do best- helping women find their inner sexy!
What better way to get back to the grind than to host a Bombshell Boudiethon? That's just what I did. This little shindig took a couple months to prep and plan for but in the end it was so worth the wait. So what is a Boudiethon? Basically, it's a photography marathon where I set aside a certain amount of time slots in one day (or two) for multiple clients to come in, get pampered, and then fall unapologetically in love with themselves through my intimate portraits.
Let me start by saying, I could not have managed this event without the help of my amazing "Boudie Brigade". These three ladies were the ultimate lady hype women and helped to make every woman that booked feel like a million bucks. The only thing missing was my best friend, Danielle, who sometimes helps me during a session.
Kara- Hair and Makeup Artist
Emily- Lead Hype woman and 2020 Boudie Ambassador
Mandy- Videographer, photographer and Pure Romance consultant. Mandy is also one of my photography mentors and a big part of how I got to where I am today.
For this event, we booked a gorgeous, little gem of Airbnb's right in downtown Ashland. With two balconies overlooking the city and Ohio river, gorgeous bathrooms (perfect for shower sessions), master bedroom and an amazing kitchen/dining and lounge area, this loft had us feeling like we were in heaven. It was certainly a hit with all the gals who came in for a session and offered us a little home away from home. Of course, a boudiethon wouldn't be complete without snacks and mimosas to break the ice.

I couldn't have asked for the weekend to go any smoother than it did. Each client was greeted by myself or a member of the Boudie brigade. Mimosa in hand, they started the day off with my talented Hair and Makeup artist, Kara. Let me tell ya, having Kara pamper you is such a treat. Most everyone I book has their own reservations and often expresses to me how scared they were to come because they've never stepped out of their comfort zone in such a vulnerable way. It didn't take long for Kara to help calm their nerves and by the time she was finished enhancing their beauty, each client walked out of the beauty room looking like a true Bombshell.
After the gals were finished with Kara, it was finally time for their session with me. A little booty poppin' here and "boobs to they sky" there. Each woman transformed before my eyes. The nerves faded away after just a few shots. Their confidence radiated. Some might say it was the mimosas. I say it was my witty way of making the perfect pouty face just by having them say "Pruuuuunes" real slow (if you know, you know). Either way, they were feeling themselves and it showed in their images. Of course, it helped having my Boudie Brigade there hyping them up.
The best part of my weekend was getting to connect with everyone and hearing a little of why they were there. Each response was just as unique as the person telling me; no two stories the same. It's humbling to know that I was able to help them on their self-love journey by being able to capture their personalities and to finally see themselves as others do. I hope that they continue to grow and realize they are worthy. It's the best part of being a boudoir photographer.
If you have ever thought or wondered what it would be like having your very own boudoir session in Ashland, I would love to help make this fantasy a reality.
